Czero Inc. develops custom hybrid-hydraulic retrofit systems through advanced modeling, hydraulic circuit design, and control integration—transforming legacy fleets with energy recovery, fuel efficiency, and emission-reduction technologies from concept to prototype.

  1. Hydraulic Hybrid Powertrains: Battery advances ended most on-road use, but niches remain today in hydraulics-intensive machines—refuse trucks, reach stackers, subsea, agriculture, forestry. Czero’s expertise migrated to electrification projects including vehicle, aircraft, mining equipment, and fast-charging studies.
  2. Mechanical design & solid modeling: They deliver detailed CAD, GD&T-enabled models, tolerance studies, and manufacturable design packages optimized for cost, form, fit, and function for retrofit modules.
  3. Modeling & simulation (dynamic, CFD, FEA): They provide system-level modeling (using MATLAB/Simulink), finite element stress analysis and computational fluid dynamics to validate performance before hardware build.
  4. Control system development & integration: Czero engineers build supervisory and embedded control algorithms, integrate sensor/actuator hardware, and validate control in hardware-in-loop or software-in-loop environments.
  5. Hydraulic circuit modeling & high-bandwidth hydraulics: They specialize in analyzing, designing, and validating complex hydraulic circuits, including digital valves and accumulator systems used in hybrid-hydraulic systems.
  6. Reverse engineering of legacy systems and parts: If an existing hydraulic or mechanical component is obsolete or undocumented, Czero can reverse engineer it, recreate technical drawings, and integrate into a retrofit.
  7. System integration and packaging: They integrate mechanical, hydraulic, control, power electronics and structural subsystems into a coherent packaged retrofit kit or module.
  8. Hybrid generator / power systems (CQP / genset hybrid): Using their hybrid systems expertise, Czero has developed “Crazy Quiet Power” (CQP) hybrid genset + EV charger systems, which may be extended into vehicle hybridization or auxiliary power systems.

KersTech, Inc. develops hybrid-hydraulic retrofit systems combining electric and hydraulic drivetrains to boost efficiency, extend EV range, and reduce emissions in heavy-duty fleets through regenerative braking and torque assist.

  1. TwinTorq electric-hydraulic motor / drivetrain module: Combines a hydraulic torque pathway with electric motor function to offload battery demand during low-speed torque and regen phases, improving efficiency 25–45% over conventional electric motors.
  2. Hydraulic torque system for Class 4–8 retrofits: A modular hydraulic torque assist system designed for heavy-duty trucks and buses operating in intense start/stop duty cycles; manufactured in the U.S. and marketed for retrofit or OEM integration.
  3. Vehicle systems integration for heavy-duty EV / HHEV platforms: KersTech positions itself as a system integrator for heavy trucks and buses, adapting its hydraulic modules into vehicle drivetrains and chassis platforms.
  4. Scalable module design for multiple vehicle classes: Their hydraulic/electric drivetrain modules are scalable across a wide mass range (e.g. from forklifts up to trucks and buses), targeting reuse across platforms.
