Here is the current list of 2024 incentives and regulatory information for commercial fleet operators in New Mexico regarding zero emission or low emission vehicles:

  1. Electric Vehicle Charging Station Rebate – El Paso Electric: Offers rebates to commercial customers installing Level 2 and DC fast charging stations, with varying rebate amounts depending on the type of installation and customer category.
  2. Advanced Clean Cars and Advanced Clean Trucks Programs – NM Environment Department: Implements rules requiring increasing percentages of zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs) from automakers, targeting 82% ZEVs by 2032 for cars and varying percentages for trucks depending on their class through 2035.
  3. Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) and Low Emission Vehicle (LEV) Standards – Alternative Fuels Data Center: Adopted from California's regulations, these standards mandate that from model year 2026, all new light-duty vehicles sold must meet specific emissions standards, escalating to 82% ZEV by 2032.
  4. Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Support – New Mexico Utility Companies: As part of the National Electric Highway Coalition, New Mexico utilities are committed to developing a robust network of DC fast charging stations across major highways.
  5. State Emissions Reduction Strategy – New Mexico Climate Change Task Force: Under the guidance of the Task Force, New Mexico is implementing strategies aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions, including the adoption of low emission vehicle and ZEV standards.
  6. Regional Electric Vehicle West Plan: New Mexico is part of the REV West plan, which focuses on creating an Intermountain West Electric Vehicle Corridor with consistent charging infrastructure across major transport corridors.

These initiatives reflect New Mexico's commitment to increasing the adoption of eco-friendly commercial vehicles, enhancing charging infrastructure, and improving air quality and environmental standards statewide.
