As part of the national U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Clean Cities Program, we achieve our mission in a number of important ways, including: (1) educating consumers about the benefits and costs of clean, locally-produced fuels for transportation; (2) disseminating information about federal, state, and local programs and initiatives; (3) sponsoring, coordinating, and leading public outreach events, including conferences and workshops on AFV technology; (4) studying and analyzing strategies and tactics for the implementation of AFVs in the region; and, (5) promoting and implementing strategies for AFV conversion projects in the nine county region of Livingston, Genesee, Monroe, Orleans, Wayne, Ontario, Yates, Seneca, Wyoming, and the City of Rochester (the “Community”).
Here are the current 2024 incentives for zero-emission and low-emission vehicles including automobiles, trucks, vans, and buses available in New York, particularly useful for commercial fleet operators:
New York Truck Voucher Incentive Program: Offers incentives for purchasing electric trucks and buses, helping to offset the higher upfront costs of zero-emission vehicles. Available through NYSERDA, this program is designed to encourage the deployment of clean, electric transportation options.
Charge Ready NY 2.0: Provides funding for the installation of publicly accessible electric vehicle charging stations. This program supports the installation of Level 2 charging stations at workplaces, multi-unit dwellings, and public facilities operated by municipal or state government entities.
Con Edison's PowerReady Program: Offers incentives to cover the infrastructure costs associated with setting up new electric vehicle charging stations. This includes support for both Level 2 and direct current fast chargers, focusing on reducing the setup cost and enhancing the EV charging network.
Low or No Emission Grant Program - 5339(c): Administered by the Federal Transit Administration, this program offers funding to support the purchase or lease of zero-emission and low-emission transit buses and related infrastructure, promoting cleaner public transportation options.
These programs not only support New York’s environmental goals but also offer financial incentives to ease the transition for commercial fleet operators towards a greener future.
