Daimler Buses recently launched new remanufacturing and replacement services for e-bus batteries (NMC1–3 and upcoming NMC4), aiming to extend vehicle life-cycle and support zero-emission fleets economically.

  1. Mercedes-Benz eCitaro city bus: A full battery-electric city bus, part of the best-selling Citaro series, with modular high-voltage batteries and fast-charging capability for urban operations and efficient stop-start routes.
  2. Mercedes-Benz eCitaro K (compact version): 10.63m short version optimized for tight city routes, with five high-voltage battery packs (approx. 491kWh) and advanced 360° camera safety systems.
  3. Mercedes-Benz eCitaro G (articulated): 18.13m articulated variant offering high passenger capacity with same modular batteries and digital services—ideal for high-throughput urban corridors.
  4. Battery remanufacturing service (NMC1–NMC3): Daimler Buses now offers remanufacturing of first-generation eCitaro batteries to recover capacity and extend vehicle operating range cost-effectively. Available in 2025.
  5. Battery replacement service (upcoming NMC4): From 2026, upgraded battery packs (third-generation NMC4) will be available to extend range, reduce weight, and offer up to 12-year warranty. URL same as above.
  6. Digital battery-health monitoring: Remote diagnostics continuously monitor battery charge state, temperature, and degradation; fleet operators receive actionable insights to optimize uptime and maintenance. Source: battery-service overview at Daimler.
  7. Extended-warranty battery packages: Long-term warranty programs (up to 12 years) accompany NMC4 battery replacement services to reduce operator risk and ensure predictable lifecycle costs.
  8. Daimler Buses Solutions depot-infrastructure service: Turnkey planning and installation of charging infrastructure, grid integration, depot electrification and operations consulting for urban fleet operators.
  9. e-Mobility service network (OMNIplus support): Access to Europe’s largest specialist e-bus service network with trained high-voltage technicians, modular parts, and depot lifting equipment tailored to North American fleets. Refer battery-service article.
  10. Used-vehicle platform BusStore with battery upgrades: Pre-owned eCitaro buses sold with battery remanufacture or replacement options, enabling high residual range and cost-efficient fleet expansion. BusStore described under Daimler Buses division info.
