3. Energy Storage System Enclosures - Manufactured by New Flyer, these enclosures use a waterproof design that is lighter and reduces parts by 90%, simplifying maintenance and enhancing serviceability. The batteries are high-power, rapid-charge, and actively liquid-cooled to maintain optimal temperatures.
4. Hexagon Purus Hydrogen Storage Cylinders - These Type 4 hydrogen storage cylinders enable the Xcelsior CHARGE FC™ to achieve its extended range of 370+ miles. They are Buy America compliant and have been a crucial component in New Flyer’s hydrogen fuel cell electric transit buses since 2020.
5. High-Grade Accelera™ Traction System - The Siemens ELFA™ 3 traction system in the Xcelsior CHARGE FC™ recovers up to 90% energy through regenerative braking. It is smaller and lighter than its predecessor, improving efficiency and increasing passenger capacity while delivering smooth, quiet, and emission-free driving.
